R80ST stolen!

Is there any way you can get the registration of the bike he arrived on ??

Is it one of those 'phone & pay' bike parks - you know the time he arrived ??

If the Police can get the credit/debit card number its game over (for him - not necessarily for your bike I'm afraid).

Good idea! I haven't got a reg for his (?) bike as yet, although I am hoping for more CCTV around the area at the time. Yes, parking is paid for via phone, but all Westminster bays have the same location code, so there will be a lot of bikes paying at that time I guess? The time could be extrapolated from the video, but then it may be a stolen bike, too.

He looks strangely familiar to me, but this may just be the white flip top helmet....can anyone recognise the bike make/model he arrives on?

Regards,

J

Received a PCN today - CCTV from Camden Council of the thief riding my bike in London Southampton Row after stealing my bike from St James's Square 14:48pm 20.08.2013.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HhlfEaN7GU&feature=youtu.be

I have also now got CCTV of the theft itself but need to convert the video file format somehow to view on my mac.

Has anyone here got software to convert .60D files (CCTV) to usable video files (avi, mov, or similar)? I can view the files with the include windows viewer off the cd, but not on my mac.

Thanks,

J

that footage is good why cant you find any licke that with the bicke he was on its easy to see what he looked licke and we now what bicke he come on we just need the reg number :blast

Out of all the bikes he chose yours. It was obviously the best one there. Hope you get your bike back.
Been checking ebay for parts?

That video is amazing? Do your cops do that a lot?

Is that your reg number ? or has he stuck another number plate on the bike.

Yes, that's my reg. that's why I got the penalty charge notice for an illegal u-turn.

I'm not sure why it took the guy 45 minutes from st James square to Southampton row - this should be 10 min. Perhaps the petrol was low, and the switch over to reserve can be a bit iffy until the petrol has filled the carbs again....

After the u-turn he then turns left and immediately right into high holborn - where would one go from the - straight east towards the A13 perhaps?

Let's see if the police can be bothered, perhaps they'll come up with something...

:tears

Well, the police are actually investigating and viewing further CCTV to identify the person who took my bike....also, someone responded to my gumtree ad for my stolen ST and claims that he had seen someone riding past on it at Marble Arch a week ago - would someone really be so daft and ride around central London on a stolen bike? Particularly, as the st is a fairly rare bike.... Well, a glimmer of hope.

saw your ebay.co.uk ad for your bike

good for you that your going all out in dealing with this

....hope you get lucky in the end

have you tried talking to your insurance company, maybe if they take it off the insurance register, it may get flagged up on the ANPR system as a non insured vehicle by the police, and so lead to recovery?

ANPR will pick the plate up on the stolen list anyway...

Unfortunately, there aren't any news. I've placed an ad on eBay a while back with a small reward. There have been over a 1000 views and many well meaning messages, but no further information. The police claim not to have been able to find more CCTV and cannot identify any reg number or persons.

Now waiting to hear from the insurance what the 'market value' may be in their opinion - I am certain it will be pennies...

Cheers,

J

Aaaaaaah "but"

Get as many copies of for sale listings as you can with prices and condition

Use the BMW Journal if you can't get any I have a batch lying here and you can do screen prints off e bay completed sales (Ahem obviously using the higher value ones you find :thumb )

Stress that the bike was a Rare model with only 5,963 being made

Good luck with the settlement It's hard for them to argue with black and white (or colour) evidence to the contrary of their offers

My mates K75 was stolen around 5 years ago.

He was called a year later with the news his bike has been recovered.
A brazilian despatch rider had been using it all that time with the same number plate on it.

I also remember when mavericks R1100GS was stolen and posted on UKGSer.

He got it back 5 months later parked up on the public highway very close to where it had been stolen. It was covered in parking tickets.......
