R850gs clutch actuator snapped in York

Hi, what I thought might be an easy cable replacement on my old R850gs turns out to be a snapped actuator lever. Any ideas on the cost of getting this sorted as I think it’s a swing arm off job? Also any recommendations of a mechanic in or around York?

I was able to replace it on my 1100GS by removing the rear wheel and rear shock.
Some folks have told me that small enough hands can do it without removing those parts, I was unable to.

also I suggest the welded stainless arm instead of the fragile OEM cast part.

Currently searching for info on changing a snapped clutch arm on my R850GS, hence stumbling across this old thread. Mine went Feb last year so my bikes been laid up since then waiting for me to get it fixed. I’ve got the new stainless arm, don’t think there’s a choice now as I believe they’re obsolete from BMW.
So what I’m looking for is has anyone done a ‘how too’ thread showing or describing how you do it without stripping the whole back end off, or even with stripping the back end off. My neutral switch was playing up the previous year or so so getting at that might be a good idea while I’m at it. But would like to have a good read up on doing this as I really want it back on the road for this winter to save using my Tenere’s.
So can anyone guide my to any known threads covering this as I’m not succeeding searching as yet.

Take the swinging arm off (I would remove the FD first to lighten the thing) . Doesn't take too long and you can lube the splines while you're at it. Just make sure you put some heat into the pivots if the arm hasn't been off before to soften the loctite. Go easy on the small screws golding the neutral light switch on - I changed mine to Allens with some anti- seize.
