r850r for sale

price - hard to say. :nenau
i think it's a very fair price - but i know you, and know the Bike.
i think you undersell it in the ad (and on here :blast )

but even bargains aren't shifting at the moment! :(

Hope you're lucky and someone see it and goes; 'just what i'm looking for" :)

No idea on price but, as Marc says, the wording is a little offputting.
Honest is good but don't over emphasise the negatives and undersell the positives.

Maybe;

Mileage : 55,141 miles (4600 per annum)
Extras : Remus revolution exhaust, large touring screen, handlebar risers, new rear brake disc.
Condition commensurate with age.
Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work :
Marks as in photos. Could do with a steering dampener and bar end weights.
Lots of work recently done;
New tank, new fuel injectors, new fuel injection gaskets. Brakes recently fully serviced with new pads and pistons cleaned and greased. New left hand switchgear. New cable clutch pivot arm, new black plastic trim ,
Lots of Motorad receipts.
Recently serviced by independent BMW mechanic and running better than ever. Bike has had all it fluids changed in the last 500 miles.
Non restricted

You sure did. :JB
I'm giving it a quick spray of Halfords finest Thursday morning. I hope the rain on the way up doesn't affect it. :nenau

P.S. Do you want to buy a R850R as a backup.....not saying that you'll need it or anything but..... :green gri

Points taken lads. Thanks. I'll sort it.

hey. The odometer reads closer to 55300. needs the dampner though. Very frisky up round 6000k. had a great laugh earlier.

bit over priced.
sold one last year with screen and boxs no marks and with 70k on it same year got 1500 for it and was lucky to get it

Really does make me wonder if it's worth selling or if I'll even get a buyer. I'll rewrite the ad though and look into putting a steering dampner on it for my own sake. It is very negativity worded though and I do need to put more 'sell' into the ad. Thanks for the help folks. Appreciated.

I'd say that I'd be checking swingarm bushes and suspension bearings all round AND tyre pressures AND suspension settings

Get all those right and it shouldn't need a steering damper!

tyre pressure ok
suspension ok

I'll have a nose around and see what's what. Well, that's selling it out of the question:D:blast

Loose paralever bearing do that? Guess what, it needs to be tightened. Now, question is, was loctite used last time this was done or not. I'm really hoping not.

Yes but are you running manufacturers pressures (check websites for these) or what the manual says? Manual probably out of date with modern tyre tech

Suspension may be okay BUT is it set up for you?? More variables than ya could poke a stick at Ould Hand

A very under-rated wee bike the 850R. Gary, the Woodworker had one and it was a great wee bike, well up to running with the 1150 and Jocksers GSA. Someones going to get a hell of a bike for handy enough money. :thumb2

Thanks Jaythro. I'll tighten up the paralever bearings and see what she's like and i'll check tyre pressure. Suspension is ok if a little tired.

Jathro your a gent. paralever bearings tightened and she rides grand again! Thanks to maddock bmw for not using locktite when they replaced the bearings. made it a doddle. Didn't even take the wheel off:D
