Hi folks,
I have a 2011 GSA with an Autocom mounted in the tool tray where the tool kit was. I am struggling to find somewhere to fit my Mitex 2 way radio.
I could place the Autocom in the space below the tool tray and strap the radio to the tool try but the Autocom makes the tool tray sit a bit high making it tricky to get the seat back on. I could bin the tray and lie Autocom and radio on top of each other in the void. Problem is that the tool tray seems to have a rubber bung that the seat would appear to rest on. Do I need the tray?
Does anyone have any pics of their Autocom and radio fitment.
It's a GSA so no room under the front of the tank.
It's a right bugger.

Cheers
Kev

Thinking of cutting a slot out of the tool tray so I can drop the autocom.
Into the space below vertically and lie the pmr on the tool tray.
Anyone tried this ?

I've done similar to fit in a FuzeBox on the tray and autocom vertically alongside through a whole in the tray. I can't upload images from my ipad it seems, but if you PM me with an email address I will forward you some photos.....
......I too am looking for a place for my radio though I've already used the space you intend to. You will need an external antenna though (not strictly legal for PMR) or you'll not get any reasonable range from under the seat......

Not strictly correct, you can use an external antenna so long as the ERP still doesn't exceed 0.5W.

See the subheading 'Converted radio equipment' on page 6 of this OFCOM PDF on PMR.

Mines an export version anyway, so perhaps I shouldn't worry about an external antenna then? Thanks for the clarification though.....much appreciated.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'export version'? Non type approved possibly, with higher output than 0.5W? An external antenna kit from BO should greatly improve your range compared to a radio lying down under your seat.

We usually get about 2-5km depending on environment. Even further in unusually favourable situations.
