Raised SatNav Mount

So, mount has arrived (very quickly!) and looks good. Big question is, where the bloody hell is the socket for the Connected Ride cradle??

I have a TomTom to BMW lead already made up from F900XR ownership but a quick inspection has failed to figure out where it goes, or even if it will fit (R1300RS parts fiche anyone?).

Anyone had the chance to look yet?

Or, even better, anyone got a workshop manual yet? ;)

Ha, answered my own question! Found the navigation installation manual here:

https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/service/manuals/install-manual.html#/section-further-manuals

However, life is short and I'd rather not spend a large chunk of it almost completely dismantling the bike to reach the connector...

https://manuals.bmw-motorrad.com/ma...52008_EBA_Navivorbereitung_0M61_01_202507.pdf

So, I'll either got the traditional route of running a TomTom lead to the battery or cut and splice the existing nav prep cable before it disappears under the fuel tank

Another question - is there anyway to find details of the female connector socket on the Connected Ride cradle? The other end of the cable is the standard 3-pin connector that is freely available (if wasn't buried deep inside the bike) but I figured, if I can find the right socket, I can add it to my satnav cable and clip straight into the BMW harness from the accessible end?

So, having fitted the Moto-mate mount, rather than wait to find the special 6-pin plug I bite the bullet and cut the lead going into the navigator mount. It has 3 wires - red, green, brown. I took a chance and crimped the TomTom lead red-red and black-brown and sealed off the green, turned the ignition on and bingo, satnav turned on!

It was the end of a long day so have just bundled everything up and velcro-strapped it to the main cabling. Will add pics when I've tidied it up properly but really pleased to have the satnav in a sensible place :)

I want to keep the BMW Navigator but I would prefer to move it to above the TFT pulled the plug out of the mount a it has part numbers on it. I’m going to see if I can find a socket that it plugs into, then get another BMW lead to extend the wiring and attach it to that. The weather is crap so rather than rushing into it I will explore other options.

Be good to hear if you manage to find a supplier for that socket, sure they'll do some business with it!

This eBay seller may be able to help.
Link below to one of his items. I’m not suggesting this is the one you need but it takes you to his items. If you click on his other items , all 390 of them, and you may find what you’re looking for.
He seems to have all sorts- maybe message him if he doesn’t list it?

Thanks for that, have messaged the seller. After a cathartic 20 minutes scrutinising all the existing leads of course!

No change - contacted TomTom (who make the BMW mount) who said I'd have to ask BMW. Contacted BMW who said I'd have to try and source it myself! So, dodgy crimps, insulating tape, and bundle of cables remains for now (bars are on full lock, bundle not as big as it looks!)

Hornig; Please note that the original power cable is too short for this setup and must therefore be extended.
Pity they can't make the effort to provide such a lead or at least point to a source :(
