Just seen spec and drawings re Rally Pro 3 suit due in March 2010

Have a look here and go down to post no 170

I like the look of the grey suit as it still looks nice'n'twatish :D

Looks interesting - the comfort mapping tech is what Klim use on their jackets

Externally fitted camel back (way easier than the R2P)

can't see me reaching for my credit card with a colour scheme like that :eek

In the latest edition of MCN there's a picture of Simon Pavey :bow wearing one of the new twat suits so no doubt their general release is iminent.

It all looks great, but if you look at this, you'll notice it's designed for riders with 1 leg longer than the other... :augie
Slightly restricted market methinks... ;)

They should also be missing an arm to fit in with the pricing :augie

And the price will be ..................... :eek

Oh only a 10% increase?

And that convinced me to shell out for a Rallye Pro 2 suit yesterday, to take advantage of the discounts. Also wasn't sure I really needed a dedicated pouch for a camelback, and both my legs are the same length.

Will use the Streetguard3 to commute, and the Rallye Pro 2 for 'fun'.

seeking trousers

for anyone who is planning on upgrading from the rallye 2 pro, I am in the mkt for second hand rallye 2 pants ... BMW size 54

I'd expect to see them before March. Talking to a dealer earlier today and some of the R2P sizes are out of stock and they can't get the stuff even from Germany.

I tried a Rally 3 Pro today. It has taken my dealer a year to get hold of them. I am very impressed. Time to change from my well work 6yr old Santiago.Price is shocking though. Has anyone got Rally 3 Pro and wishes to comment ?

I bought the suit last week so only used for commuting at the moment. I looked at many other 'adventure' suits Inc the similarly priced Rev it Defender and for me, the fit and features made the BeeM suit the better buy, in fact with a 10% discount it was nearly 100 quid cheaper than the Rev it.

I anticipate this suit lasting a few years and though expensive many Rukka jackets alone cost more than the complete Rally 3.

What I can say so far is the substantial armour, especially the back protector soon mould to your body and you hardly notice it. The venting works well even in the humid, sticky London rush hour traffic. Not tested in the rain yet, I think initially the outer will be fairly water resistant but not sure how long that will last. Unless you plan to wear a waterproof top over it I don't think it will make a good 4 season suit. Off to the Pyrenees next week which should give it a good test.
Obviously just my opinion but the 'gun/black one is less 'twat 'Suitish than previous offerings!

I have been trying to understand why you would build these Rallye textile suits in such a way with the liner on the INSIDE and now I have seen the light.
I have owned a cheaper, waterproof alternative, to replace my Santiago, for two weeks and absolutely hate it, so much so that it has gone and I now have a Rallye 3 and I love it.
If you wear a totally waterproof suit, then you feel like you are in a plastic bag all of the time. It has needed a new crap suit to show me this.:blast These Rallye textile suits breathe well and make really comfortable riding with protection for a light/medium downpour. In extreme rain conditions, you just put on an oversuit/jacket, plastic bag syndrome again.
It all makes perfect sense now. :thumb

I've just come back from 3 weeks crossing Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia (7,000 km in 3 weeks) in a RP3 jacket and have to say that I was very impressed by its performance in the high temps and humidities experienced. The venting was very effective, lodas of pockets and the integral Drink Tank was a Godsend for on-the-move hydration.

Not only that but it provided great protection on the inevitable off-road spills, shrugged off any damage and scrubbed-up well when put through the washing machine.

The only thing I was less impressed with was the wind-chill impact in cold/wet conditions when the outer layer became totally soaked & the moisture started to work its way up the sleeves by capillary action.

Despite this one fault I think it was a great piece of kit and worth every penny it cost. Recommended.
