Just bought one as my Santiago was on its last legs before a trip through Slovakia and now it;s totally knackered. I've also had a Savannah. So far very pleased with the Rallye and as the Goretex is included and it is an extra on the Santiago it was actually cheaper.
There have been comments that the Goretex lining means a soggy jacket. I found this out on my other jackets and always find it better to use a waterproof oversuit and use the Goretex as an extra insulation layer and to keep the unexpected shower out. In any case Goretex does not work as an outer layer as its breathability relied on sweat being vapour. It the Goretex is outside and away from body heat but near cold wind its not much good.
The trick is not to expect too much. In our normal day to day wear we wear different things when it's hot, cold, wet or dry so why expect a bike jacket to do it all. My Santiago has been good but it needed a heated vest in mid winter and it did not stop me sweating on the odd hot day in Europe.
TWAT suit? When you are not the inside, warm, dry, comfortable and protected by some really imprssive armour, who is the TWAT. You or the other guy on the outside.
