The Raspberry Pi goes on sale tomorrow - if you can get on to their website. A credit card sized computer for $35 (networked version) with HDMI capability. Install linux and xbmc and stick it behind your telly for a super cheap HTPC.
Been waiting for this and following the blog about the development for a while.
The bit about the tax regime in this country preventing them building it here was particularly galling (in a nutshell - importing components to build it here- high tax. Getting it built overseas and then importing it - low/no tax.)
No wonder we don't make anything any more.

Been thinking about getting a raspberry pi. I would like to get BBC iplayer, 4od, media streaming, web browsing, games etc. on my telly, is the pi the tool for the job. I would probably find other uses for it as well. Seems to me to be a very cheap and interesting toy.
