My GS TB 2016 was in for its 1 year service so took the opportunity to try the GSA 2017. I have to say I enjoyed the whole super tanker experience bar one thing - the missing growl, rasp and bap going down the gears in quick shift. It is clearly audible on my euro 3 engine and I love it. In fact I was quite smitten with the GSA but that dumbing down of the euro 4 engine is potentially a deal breaker.

A learned colleague of mine mentioned a hilltop remap might sort that. Any comments?

Nutty, you have ridden the euro 4 TB, did the remap give the bike its voice back?

Akrapovic
Understand that an Akrapovic exhaust increases the sound, but you can't increase the sound on something that's not there - if you see what I mean.

I have a 2017 GSA with an Akra end can and still thought it sounded shit so just bought the akra de cat headers and now it sounds good. Very expensive for some bloody noise though. My friend has a 2015 GS and has a SC Project exhaust which sounds practically identical to my Akra full system. Think his pipe was about £350/£400 and is good quality.

My GSA 2017 does it, pops and crackles as you say on quickshifter . Standard cans as well:nenau

Mine does it as well, albeit in a quiet way.

I'm used to Akrapovic exhausts with DB Killers removed, so it is quieter than those. But I like that as its a touring bike and comfort is important.

I'm not unhappy with the standard exhaust, looks and sounds fine.

I couldn't tell the difference exhaust noise-wise between my Euro 4 2017 and previous 2015 bike. I've got a Euro 3 Akra on it now, courtesy of another member who thought he needed a black one on his TB instead of the Ti one he fitted at delivery.
