Rattling GS 1150

Hi can any of you knowledgable chaps/chapesses out there help me out? I have started using the GS everyday for work (38 mile round trip) which I started 3 months ago. Over the past week or so on start up there is a terrible rattling noise & now and again a grating noise as if the stater button is pressed when the engine is running! Anybody got any ideas? & should I be worried?? Cheers guys

Check your starter's not loose?

Agree with Timolgra totally on this one. I ignored it for a while and my starter motor housing motor launched itself in pieces out of the bike, whilst in France.
