Rattling throttle bodies how long should they last??

My 2002 GSA has done 46k and both throttle bodies have free play and rattle at idle- is this a common problem?? If so how long do they last normally ? Cheers

They seem to last until you decide that around £60 per side is worth spending to get rid of the racket (Scriminger)

You may also find that it becomes difficult / impossible to get a good throttle body balance when there's loads of slop in the shafts. I had mine refurbed by Scriminger and it made a big difference.

Mine rattled until about 150,000 then the right hand one fell apart on the way home from work one day. Made it home tho picked up a second hand set and carried on

Yep - they go on and on for miles just getting worse (100k atm - been doing it for the last 20k). I'm just doing mine with one of Romanian Dan's bargain kits.
