try sending a pm to NLC he may be up for it, may be worth covering your ears when you get his reply though....... :D :D

I have already signed up, there will be plenty of us you can tag along with if you dont get a better offer.

Thanks the way my luck is going just lately any offer would be a result :blast

Why did he not enjoy it?

I am sure he did really but was a bit phased at the finish, the weather was pretty horrendous with strong winds and rain for about 16hrs. He did a really good writeup, there is a link in Keith's after event post, well worth a read.

Why did he not enjoy it?

It was a great experience, and of course, a worthy cause. However, the weather was against us so it made the ride a lot harder.

Corey did a grand write up tho. I brought the subject of this years ride up at the recent tosses Xmas dinner in London...he didn't appear overly keen to do it again...:D

I can't think of many less enjoyable ways to spend a day on a bike tbh.
1000 miles? Not a problem.:thumb2
But that route is DIRE.
The northern loop goes through some of the most stunning scenery this island has to offer, and bypasses every decent road through it.:blast
I know the idea is to make progress easier, but all day on M'way and DC is not my idea of a fun way to raise money. So I'm out.

But the RBLR get my money other ways...

There are two different objectives to the RBLR 1000
Primarily to do 1000 miles over the weekend without a time limit and collect money for the British Legion, however if you wish to qualify for membership of the IBA the 1000 miles need to be done within 24hrs.

Either way you can choose any route using any roads you like as long as you can produce time\dated receipts to prove that you have covered at least 1000 miles.

Sure.

Not strictly true as the mandatory checkpoints make any route other the main road or motorway between them practically impossible unless you want to do way more than 1000 miles, but I see where you are coming from.

im up for it

Looks a good day out was thinking of joining it up for a 1500 mile 36 hrs iorn butt so i can leave home in torbay and include it in the trip:beer:

I did it last year with a couple of mates, it was a long day and the weather was the worst I've seen in ages.
It was a cracking day for an amazing cause. The comradery, and attention to completing it safely was spot on. Well worth a go, didn't manage much in the way of sight seeing, but completing it on a Ducati was what ultimately ended up with me moving to the dark side...

Each to their own. :thumb2
I'm certainly not discouraging anyone. I just think it could be a whole heap better with a bit of check point tweaking. There's some cracking roads that could be ridden...

Quick update myself, johnboy and ianran off this parish are signed on for north anticlockwise i have applied for a big bucket of sunshine this year and as the sun always shines on the righteous i am confident.:bounce1
