re-program ECU

Has any one had their ECU re-programed by Boxer Design in Germany.
They are claiming 14PS increase & it does not invalidate the warrenty.

No, but I am considering fitting a Dimsport controller. This works like a Power Commander and gives a bespoke fuel and ignition map after a dyno setup. In theory this should be better than the boxer remap as it is bespoke for your own bike. Also should enable me to get the best from a free flow air filter and exhaust.

How does the Dimsport controller differ from the Wunderlich version ??

Wunderlich box, can only add fuel ontop of the existing fuel map, it does not control or alter the ignition map, if you want the best gains go for a standalone ecu such as a Megasquirt and at £250 better value than a power commander or type device.

Wunderlich device is quite crude. It adjusts fuel supply only over three ranges in six steps via pushbuttons.
The Dimsport is much more sophisticated and offers a complete remap (fuel and ignition) when set up on a dyno with the right software package. More expensive but should give better results.
Both plug into the existing harness. www.bmwbikebits.co.uk sell both so quite easy to compare.

No, not yet. Have bought Remus Y piece and Akrapovic end can but have not bought the Dimsport yet. Plan is to dyno the bike as standard, fit the new Dimsport, exhaust plus a K&N filter, and get it set up properly on a dyno so I can see what the improvement is. Realistically, will be July before I can get it done.
