....and how did you get on with it proofing your Kevlar jeans as mentioned in post #12.?
I have used Nik Wax for years and swear by it. Its kept my 8 year old Hein Gericke TOTALLY waterproof in some unimaginable weather.
Tips
1. I always wash the jacker and trousers separately. I tried them both in the same wash once and it overloaded the machine (unless you have an industrial washing machine)
2. Thoroughly clean out the washing machine draw to clear the normal detergent and fasten all of the zips and velcro fasteners
3. Like you said, 100ml of each liquid
4. The Tech Wash (Green Cap) goes in where the detergent normally goes (this is the surfactant and unclogs the microscopic pores of dirt, and it is the dirt that is causing the leaks)
5. Add the TX Wash (Blue Cap) into the compartment where the Fabric Conditioner normally goes (this is the reproofer) Both added at the same time
6. Wash on a 30 degree cycle
7. Hang out to dry
8. When it has stopped dripping and as an optional extra (which I always do) spray with the trigger bottle
9. to complete the drying process hang in the airing cupboard for a couple of days
10. Job done
