Reading gdb files ?

As an old fashioned map reading person how can I access a gdb file and look and make sense of the map therein ?
Assuming there is a map therein of course.

.gdb files need Mapsource installed on your PC in order to read the files. If you post the file to a post here we can show you what's on it.

Post number 2 links to a gbd file and as I don't have any gps then I'm a little lost (no pun intended).

That's exactly what I want to do Aidan and thank you.
But I assume I need said mapsource to do this myself for any gdb file that crops up on this site ?
And I equally assume that I need a gps in order to get mapsource ?
