I had the pleasure (well before their Gallagher days) of referring Devitt to what was then the insurance brokers’ regulator, whose office was opposite ours on Houndsditch EC3.

It was amazing how quickly Devitt then sprang to life. Useless shower of…..

Has the OP cracked it?

Has he bought and insured the 1300 GSA?

Has he bought a junk bike?

Has he done anything at all?

From experience with this…has the old policy expired? If it has not expired, renewal is much cheaper than a new policy. Assuming you had protected NCD.
Difference for me was £5500 new policy, £1272 to change bike to a replacement..same model BMW.

I still cant get my head around theft being ‘at fault’ but it is to do with the insurance company being able to recover losses, not things actually being your fault!
