Rear Brake Pad Failure

I wont be anymore, was giving the bike the weekly once over and clean and noticed the rear fluid to be low, so checked the rear pads as i only fitted them around 800miles ago month or so ago and saw that one pad is near down to the metal. Not a great pic there is some life left not much but mental for 800miles and i dont use the rear brake that much.

So anyone recomend a decent set of rear pads??

I have seen Steptoe mention these pads before. They are some very, very cheap pads that allow a good markup for the reseller but are rubbish..

These sound really crap but BMW OEM organic pads can be worn to the metal in under 4000 miles. I now have sintered pads at both ends but really would prefer to have less power to rear brake. Organics will give that but the cost in pads and chewed discs is silly.

I fitted these on my GS and they only lasted around 800 miles before they were metal to metal. I was half way through France on my way to Spain so removed the rear caliper for the remainder of the trip. Total shit.

No bike is still on orignal pads on the front.. Do you need to swap over both front and rear to sintered??

2011 twin cam. Original oem rear pads now about 65% worn after 25000 miles. The disk is still well within the service limits and when I replace the pads, I'll go for oem again. They may be more expensive than after market ones but they seem to last. 800 miles? Ye gods! something not right there.

Ive never had any problems with Goldfren sintered pads. They must done at least 40K in the Yammie 900 blue spots. Three sets with life remaining.

The Beemer has Brembos right now and some more to fit when needed. Sintered both ends because OEM organics (in the rear brake) are nearly as shite as the OP's Yobbo brand brake pads.

I have no personal attachment but Goldfren HH worked fine for me. Its not all about the name on the box.

Don't believe so I had it off when I changed them and gave a good clean and worked it in and out a few times. Will give a good investigation when I swap them out.

Looks to me as if the entire friction surface on one pad has vanished!

Faulty pad then. Goldfren sound like cheap shite and this isnt the first forum where ive come across problems that others have had with them. I bought Brembos for when mine need changed,.
