Soon after I bought my 2013 LC (2nd hand), I fitter a Puig Hugger. I knew from experience with my Explorer that they were not very effective but as I did not intend to intentionally go out in the rain. It didn't matter and I think it looks better.
Those of you who have one fitted will know the Puig uses as one of its mounts, the front caliper mounting bolt.
Having fitted mine (very easy) I have done about 9K Miles. The bike, although mostly dry miles, always gets an adoring wipe over on a regular basis. mostly to remove any detritus thrown up onto the Puig. (See what I mean by not very effective?) To my horror at a normal wipe over recently, just prior to a ride!, I found the Puig was loose as the aforementioned front caliper bolt was AWOL!
I know, did I torque it? Can't remember, sorry but as I learn't my trade before torque wrenches were invented, I have, up to now managed without. I will however do so on this occasion now (what's the fig, 24?) as I'm also willing to learn.
