Hi chaps. My rear caliper seems to have suddenly gone a bit lazy.

Pistons still move but very weak and practically no stopping power.

Have already changed fluid, noticed black bits floating in there - am guessing from the hose that attaches to the master cylinder. Have ordered a new hose, but wondering whether crap has now entered the main system. :nenau

is there anything else that could be causing this?

Sounds like the hose has collapsed internally, one of my front ones did the same at 16 years old. And/or worn seals in the master cylinder?

Do you mean the rubber that sits in the cylinder cap? That looks OK in fact.

It's an adventure so has braided lines, except for the hose that connects to the master cylinder. Should I be worried there are bits of rubber crap in the abs system now?

No, it was one of the lines running down to the caliper that collapsed on mine.
I don't have ABS myself but I would certainly be considering flushing the system through if I had.
