My rear shock on my 08 R1200GS is leaking after only 16000 miles and BMW have quoted me £1200 to replace it!
Does anyone have any experience of replacement rear shocks that are compatible with the ESA; either Wilbur or Ohlins (Something that's better than the apparently poor design of the factory one)? Some independants are telling me they are seeing this more and more.
Can anyone recommend a part and fitter?!!

The current 2012 model rear shock is a WP unit so they should be the replacement. Raved about as standard fit on ktm

Mmm, I did wonder. You get what you pay for I suppose

Firstly I would talk to someone like Revs racing to see if the original can be rebuilt.
If not spend the money of a Wilber ESA replacement :thumb

Yeh thanks guys I did see that Wilbers do an ESA thing and I've been quoted £800 fitted for that and people seem to think that the whole riding experience is better as well. That may well be the answer!
