Rear light using LED's

Eight Months! I'm on my third in two weeks. Always the tail light not the brake light. Must check it out sometime.

I tend to run with the side light one (but a 20w filament). So the tail light is on many hundreds of times longer than the brake light, especially as I now have a front brake worthy of the name :)

I'm same as Kenny I really can not remember last time I had a rear bulb go.
Headlight, Hmmm that's a different matter I had 2 go in 2003 :( bloody expensive as well :eek plus couple of indicator bulbs with bad contacts....

These boards have been made and one is currently being evaluated by Thunder (he was the next in line in the OP's thread).

I don't want to steal Thunder's thunder so you will have to wait for his post/review.

That'll be twenty photos of a back light and three pages of write-up !!!:D

Can't wait :augie

Secretive sod sat in my back garden for two hours on Sunday and never mentioned it...coffee isn't cheap you know !!:rob

I bunged this on the other day. £22.50 with the numberplate bracket. Bit minimalist for what you're doing but gives you an idea what else is out there. Looks well made, sealed unit, neat wires (soldered tips!) and neatly moulded bracket.

Right, have fitted and played with Techno's latest creation so here's my thoughts for what they are worth and a few pictures. :augie

I've fitted Rob's panels to previous bikes and no just how good they are, far brighter than a standard bulb, use less voltage (this is the Airhead version remember, every mili-amp counts :rob ) and basically a fit and forget job as it will last for years.

Fitting is a five minute job, remove tail light lens, disconnect original bulb holder and reflector and connect the tail, earth and brake spade connectors which are laid out in the same position as the original then insert the panel into the tail light housing before refitting lens. Job done. :thumb

Some pictures of the panel in place and with the lens fitted, really need to be taken at night and not on a sunny day to show the difference between stock and LED but with the bikes being stored at my remote secret location and late nights its not possible at the moment. From previous experience I know it's significant. :augie
