Hi Techno,
mine arrived today -only paid for it yesterday too -very speedy.
Am going to install in a couple of minutes-construction looks really good, and very neat and robust.
Well worth it IMHO.
Many thanks Techno - excellent !

this may seem like a daft question. why use red LED's behind a red lense surely white would be brighter. or is it a case of the tail light isnt red enough. also have the resistors been done away with on the production model. cheers Bm:thumb2

no resistors means no current limiting which means bye-bye LEDs of whatever colour!

Red are used because a) electrical characteristics b) if the lens cracks or breaks completely you are not showing a White light to the rear c) the red lens will not attenuate the light output. d) you can fit a trendy clear lens and still have a red tail light.

Just to say, that i fitted my new LED rear to my 100GS yesterday, which went very smoothly apart from fact that previous owner must have squeezed the spade connectors tight, and one broke off ( NOT on Techno's LED, but on my bike's wiring) !
That sorted, and brake switch removed and cleaned ( under the footbrake lever bit), all works wonderfully; had to do some night riding last night, and well, bright as a very bright thing, and I would say that the brake light is much brighter than the old standard bulb set up. Money well spent, and a worthwhile safety addition.
Very reassuring !

J.

I'll ask, but I think I already know the answer.

Would this fit a 1988 R100RT? No. just as I suspected.

Don't think so. Was that what you were thinking?

Could make one if you are rich or enough people want one..
