Rear lights mod on a 2005 GS12

Hello everybody.

I was thinking for a while now to change the rear lights on my 2005 GS12 (which are using traditional filament bulbs) with a LED lamp and while I'm at it maybe install a gizmo that makes the stop light flash instead of just lighting up on braking.

I noticed this on another bike in heavy rain and it was SOOO much more visible than on the bike of the mate I was riding with who has a bike similar to mine. And being rear-ended in conditions of low visibility under braking by some air-head is something I would definitely like to avoid as much as possible. (To me it's such a stupid accident and I'm baffled by how some drivers manage to simply plow in the back of another vehicle. If the "victim" vehicle is another car well, the consequences if the impact is not massive are more hardware - in this case the vehicle - than software - in this case the passengers. But on a motorbike even a "nudge" from behind at relatively slow speed can have very nasty consequences)

Did any of you have already changed their bulb based rear lights with LED ones?
Does anybody know about where the flashing gizmo could be found/ordered and it it's at all possible to use it on a GS?

The modulated rear light is something that I would like to do, but it is as understand it illegal in the UK, most examples I've seen are from the States.

Can be done as a full replacement light, a bulb or an inline module.

I have seen on YouTube a short video of the PS3 installed on a UK GS12 with the flashing function deactivated. So it might work...

That's my bike on YouTube. Yes it absolutely does work on flash and on annoying flicker mode (twinkling). Good thing is you can turn it on and off by pulling the brake lever a set number of times on start up. So if you get stopped you turn it off before Mr Policeman gets to you. Not that I am saying that would be a good idea....

My Skene is a thoroughly nice chap too and was a great help. I can thoroughly recommend the LED indicators from NN which had the extra brake light strips in them too. See the Youtube vid

I was looking already at the rear LED indicators from NNorm. Could you pls tell me how do they connect to the brake light circuitry? And since we're talking about the LED indicator panels, do they install the same way as the rear light LED panel by means of a bulb dummy plug?
Btw, what year is your GS and did installing the Skene lights had any effect on how the computer is interpreting the circuit? (replacing the original filament bulbs sometimes can trigger a "broken light alarm in the dashboard)

I've been rear ended on a bike once, and it's made me slightly nervous of assaults from behind. So I've got a standard Nippy LED rear light, LED indicators with brake light strips, and a brake light modulator from bikevis.

Not been hauled over the coals by the MOT bloke, don't even think he noticed, he just flicks the brake lever to see if the light comes on, and it does.

No idea what it looks like to a following driver, but I've not had any tyre screeches just behind me since I fitted this stuff, and I did before.
