Hi all,

The input from the resevoir on my rear brake master cylinder is wet (not dripping, just shows moisture when you wiggle the connector). As the bike is garaged it's not water or anything, I'm guessing the seal is on it's way out. Looking at the diagram for the cylinder at realoem

doesn't seem to show this as a replaceable part. Anyone know how to repair this? Cylinder rebuild? New cylinder?

Currently the rear brake is soft due to contaminated fluid, looks like this may be the source?

Cheers

Matt

The line from the reservoir to the cylinder is not under any pressure apart from gravity, mines held on with those non reusable clips, if I had a seep there the first thing I would do might be to replace the clip with a small fuel line clip, and take the opportunity to check the hose for splits.

Cool, that explains way it's not pissing fluid everywhere then, I'll check the lines out this weekend. I'd been thinking about replacing with braided lines anyway as the bike 8 years old now and I'd noticed in other areas that the rubber is starting to perish.

Cheers

I think you're getting confused here.

Are you sure you meant the INPUT from the master cylinder? If so then Stewarts reply is of course correct.
If your referring to the metal outlet pipe or anything thereafter then you have a problem which needs fixing asap...ie before you ride it.

Yes the input (the little L shaped tube under the number 5 in the diagam above).
