Hello!

I am new to BMW ownership and apologize for the number of questions I'll be posting!

I am looking at doing a rear seat delete on my R1250GS, but I am concerned about losing the waterproofing the rear seat provides. I see that Touratech makes a rear seat rack that has a plastic plate to cover the void, but OUCH! the cost!

Am I overly worrying about the waterproofing or are the more affordable options that I am not finding?

Thanks

Brian

Initially I folded up a binbag into the void, now in the process of making a plate and using 3m Velcro to keep it in place

I have had a very expensive Wunderlich plate and now use this Rear Seat Luggage Rack from AliExpress

Never been caught in a down pour but I didn't consider its Ingress Protection (IP) rating before purchase.

I bought the same one that Gavla got from AliExpress and then got some neoprene to stick to one side and some car door rubber seal around the edges. Something like this.
