I've just bought a new GS1200 and a friend mentioned there was a small luggage pannier that replaces the rear seat using the same mounting.

Does anyone know were I can find these ?

Regards Peter

Well, I know you can buy an adaptor kit to mount the Vario mounting plate in place of the rear seat, then just bung on a Vario top box, but other solutions may be available...

Vern will make you one that you can bolt anywhere you like:

Peter,

Depending on what you need to carry you can also mount a Pelicase or similar instead of the rear seat.
If you want any photos of what this looks like let me know and I'll post some up as I use a Pelicase 1450 instead of the rear seat quite often.

Funny enough , I made one of these earlier ,
The Odd shaped box was to allow easy access to the panniers ...
This is a Quick detach , with your ignition key , Some have tried to copy this but fall somewhat short...... ! .........

Hi Andy, I'm only looking to carry day luggage type bits so I'm only looking for something about 10 litres capacity. If your Pelicase matches that then yes I'd appreciate a photo sometime please.

Peter

Peter,

Below should be the pictures I've just inserted.
The box I use is a Pelicase 1450 which I get hold of every now and then through work.
Just happens I am going to be putting another one in the for sale section this week.
I also bought the adptor kit from my friendly dealer which allows you to mount the box in place of the rear seat.
I carry quite a bit in mine as you can see.
I've had a look on the website and the interior dimensions for this box are :-
37.1 x 25.8 x 15.2 cm (14.62" x 10.18" x 6.00" ).

Hope this helps.

Andy

I just bolted a HG topbox to an old 11** seat base, stripped of the covering & padding.
