This reminds me of the old Tommy Cooper gag: Tommy: Doctor, doctor it hurts if I do this (sticks out tongue / waves arm or whatever) Doctor: Don't do it then. I find that if I give the brake fluid reservoir a good tug, it comes off, too.

If still not working some WD40 on the clip catches etc. Will not come off when yanked if on properly.
