any help appreciated :thumb2

Unscrew and remove the cap to see what's broken or upgrade your shock to something else. If you really want to keep the shock I might be able to supply you with a secondhand replace when I see you next.

hello sir - and very kind! :thumb2
yes i did that with the last one as well

it doesnt need topping up either, its seems to be like its stripped and its turning lumpy. Just liek the last one.
This one is a 8K miles second hand OEM and I cant believe the same bloody thing has happened to it. Damnit.

Hows your bike - you said in anotrher thread its running a bit lumpy??

You know you can just change the adjuster don't you?

I make sure I turn mine a little everytime I ride the bike just to keep it free. I had the same thing happen and I exchanged the adjuster for one that came off my old 650 dakar shock.

If you can find someone with an old knackered shock, just unscrew the banjo bolt, top up the adjuster with engine oil and screw on to your good shock :thumb2

I don't think you can repair the knob unfortunately :blast

It's had this problem since I bought it. Sometimes worse, sometimes not. I'll need a a bit of time to compose the full explaination so please be patient until then. One thing's for sure, it's not going to Europe this year until it's fixed so at the moment it looks like the TTR is going to be getting a new set of tyres very soon. :D

The hex shape in the plastic wears, if the adjuster becomes stiff of someone tries to wind it beyond the ends of its travel the adjuster will get damaged and then turning the knob will have no effect.

John

crazy design if its a plastic hex thats just stripped. WTF.
One day fine, the next it didnt turn the innards. Unhappy bunny.

Anyone got one? :D

I fixed my oem shock by replacing it with a custom built hyperpro

Granted, a far from cheap solution but at 19 years, the old one didn't owe me too much...
