Rear shock refitting

Hi Everyone

I have had my rear shock serviced and upgraded from T-Tech Suspension, quick question..

When refitting it my Haynes manual says 100Nm of torque, I get that, and it says to grease the bolts mounting it to the subframe and swingarm, also not a problem.

However it says to use Loctite 270 (which I have) is this right? Is this threadlocker to strong for this application?

I wouldn't necessarily trust Haynes, I think Loctite red is not necessary for this, if it ever has to be removed it will require heat. Loctite blue is more that sufficient. Double check torque specs from more sources than just Haynes

I have read from two different sources that Loctite 270/2701 is the recommended thread locker.

I called my local mechanic/workshop today (he removed and refitted the front shock recently) and he said he uses blue Loctite (assuming 243).

I have checked the torque settings from the same sources, and both are saying 100Nm, so at that level I will use the Loctite 243 and check the torque on the bolts in 250/500/1000 miles and see if it's ok..

Be careful with loctite. Some of the red stuff I use at work would never be removable with hand tools.
