Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows where i might get a new rose joint
for the bottom of an Xmoto rear shock.

I've looked on the reprom and can't find a part/part number.
It's a sachs shock but I can't find any info on bike shockers from sachs.

I'm gonna phone my Bumw dealer tomorrow but I doubt they'll
have much joy without a strip down microfiche of the shock.

The thread is 18x1mm 35mm long and the through hole is around 26mm.

Does anyone know where I could get a replacement from a different model with the same shock ?

Any help appreciated. :beerjug:

I tried to find one when there was play in the bearing in my Xcountry but to no avail. Even the local bearing supplier couldn't find one.

The view at the time was that it was made for Sachs.

In the end I had a collar made up that screwed into the shock lower and that enable a steel bearing to be put in. They are easy to get hold of - the bearings that is.

The mod is still working ok after about 18months and 2 MoTs. I was worried about dissimilar metals as I now have a steel collar in the alloy body of the shock. Not much I could do about that but this may be an option until a replacement shock or bearing appears from somewhere.

I found out, once I had the old bearing out using brut force to unscrew it, that there are 2 spring loaded latches that stop the threaded part of the bearing from coming out all the way whilst allowing some ride height adjustment.

On the damping adjuster there is a rubber grip that goes around it. If that is removed two holes can be seen going into the threaded part of the bearing. It should be possible to push the spring loaded latches in to allow the bearing to be removed.

I have a brand new rose joint for an xchallenge, and an old air shock that may offer some useful parts.

e only drawback is that I won'. Be back in the UK to get it until midaugust

Hi losttheplot,
I buy that rose joint if it's the same thread. M18x1mm 35mm long.
Or where did you get it ?

Thanks.
