Well I'm finally going to take the plunge and get one of these gps thingies. After much searching of the various threads and net prices I have provisionally decided on a 2610, mounted on a migsel mount with short ram connector arm to a ram bracket with diamond ball unit attached.
Here's the main question. For the 2610 pre-loaded, tested and ready to go with v7 on a 2gb sandisk card with power lead and above brackets (minus migsels bit),car bean bag and ciggy lighter speaker cable,mains cable etc, I have been quoted £710.
Is this price reasonable or rip off.
(I know I could get away with the standard card and load bits on as I need them but having everthing already on board aka nav 2 plus takes away the idiot factor---me).
sorry if its going over old ground again, but its the type of thing I only intend to purchase once and mistakes could prove expensive(especially if the missus finds out)
:D

A word of warning..that sandisk card apparently causes problems in some card readers....it's been on a couple of forums I've been perusing whilst looking at camera storage media.

This from the Sandisk page;

NB.Many card readers will not handle memory cards of this capacity correctly. We can only certify for use with our modern USB2 card readers, discounted below

Obviously they do want to sell you their own reader, but like I said, I did come across similar comments independantly.

Any idea what 2gb card the bm nav 2 plus uses. As its made by garmin the internal gubbins should be the same therefore if I can get the same make of card, there should'nt be any problems.

Just get the Garmin 2620. It comes with 2GB card, all maps preloaded and sells for around GBP650-GBP680.

Avoid the 2620, it has a microdrive instead of a solid state CF card, the microdrive can't live with the vibes on a bike. Someone on the Adv. Rider site found out the hard way:eek:

Considering the 2610 is about £550 plus a bike mount plus a 2gb card costs £90 to £140, that's not too expensive.
