Recall in Germany - fact or fancy?

No smoke:augie

No jealousy here, I can't wait to ride one in the next few weeks and if I like it there maybe a couple of GSA tractor's for sale (or maybe one and a cheque to the dealer)

I just hope that it's sorted and it turns out to be a great bike:thumb

No smoke? That's enough of a reason to believe anything written?

Whatever issues there may be with the new bike it WILL get sorted , why wouldn't it?

I never thought I'd read the words from you about possibly changing to a techie boxer knowing how much praise you heap upon the tractors. :D

I may be off to CWs tomorrow for a first hand squint at what all the fuss is about. :augie

Yes, like I mentioned above, please go to your dealer tomorrow and ask to view your bike or even better go to Wollaston BMW Northampton from 8am tomorrow (fri) and you will see dealers from all over the country having bikes updated.

I've just been on the blower to my local dealer, to book a demo ride but unfortunately a demo bike won't be available until next week. They will have two new bikes on display though for people to dribble and drool over.

I just happened to mention about recall on the brake lines, or updates to said area of the bike and the guy didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I even chuckled down the phone saying I obviously respect your confidentiality but are you denying knowledge that any mods etc need to be done before official release because that's what you are instructed to do? Again, he insisted that they know of no recall, update or even rumour of such. I guess there is no point after all in me doing as you suggest. Of course, he could be lying, so could you, and come to that so could I?

Is there an official secrets act do you think between the sales and service depts within every dealer?

It's enough to make you wonder if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing sometimes. :nenau

Hope everyone is still on for tomorrow. As far as I know all bike were updated today so shouldn't be any problems. We just got back 30 mins ago with our 8 bikes so all set for sat and sun.

UPDATE: Just spoke to BMW (not dealer) at Dublin Bike show and the UK bikes are getting the updates/mods today and being shipped to various locations in UK for this to happen and all should be well. Problem was Enduro Pro chip and therefore all should be OK. First look at bike in the flesh and sat up on her with the missus. Mines being delivered 11th march. Red with all the trimmings but uncertain about LED running lights being delivered at that time. Cant wait.......

was nothing to do with the issue raised in this thread... so this case it would seem that there was smoke without fire... :augie

That was written over 8hrs after my post, which followed yours! :D

Damn where's my crystal ball gone :blast

The issue which caused the problems which were sorted today was to do with the torque of the forks, nothing to do with a chip/software issue.
