Recall re axel

Another recall ? I Have never had one yet .
Depends on how u define recall.
Leaking calipers, spokes, batteries, may not be a technical recall but known documented problems.
Yes warlord our goldilocks bikes are good. Keeping mine for a good while yet.

A letter or email saying I have to take the bike back to the dealership. No point worrying about issues I don't have.

You’re just not cut out for LC ownership are you ? :D

Probably not :D I don't have a twat suit,Don't have a torque wrench, Don't check my tpms,Oh and don't mark my nuts and bolts with a white marker to see if they have moved.
Have I missed anything.

OMG yes...

You also have to check your Ting Tings weekly, lube your splines and flappy things, rant for weeks about bubbling & rusting, do the online do-i would-i shoulda-i coulda-i stress dance before and during each DIY attempt, forking recall check, spoke to soon check, shocking leaky check, cheque checking check, check

I feel sorry for the folks who have another recall on a 1250. BMW will sort it no doubt.

I had more issues with my old 1200s to be honest , well not the last 16 plate TB as that was a great bike , trashed from 0 miles and not one problem . The 1250 had the brakes changed even tho the leak could not be found , apart from that all good . Feel sorry for chaps with issues but the units produced against problems is normal , just magnified on forums , read other manufacturers forums , same posts and issues . At least we have 100% backup from our dealers .
Any failure is a personal and irritating situation to find yourself in , but if it’s sorted fine .

Jesus,I need two hours to check bike before I go out on the bike.:D

This is a high precision cost cutting instrument with all components on the very limit of catastrophic failure.. :D

We are true test pilots and pre-check flight is essential to get home in one piece :D

Don't trust the bolts, they torque too much and really are just nuts.

You are sinner, and must go to church.

I phoned about this today and despite my bike marching all the numbers they said that there was nothing in the system about a recall on any 1250 models and to just wait for a letter if it’s needing.

Hopefully no issues in between!

My dealer did seem to be aware and went off to check before telling me my bike was not affected, even though the numbers match. I can only assume that it was built before October 31st, though I didn't get it until November 29th. I asked if it was safe to ride as I am still trying to get enough miles on it for the running in service. They said yes and then promptly tried to get me to make a booking, even though I don't know when I am likely to reach the requisite 600 miles!

Mine was built in November 2018 and all the numbers match as well so I’d be surprised if it wasn’t actually affected but I guess you never know.

Will more than likely go to more years later, now we have front wheel collapse.

The numbers are the type approval for the bikes, the type approval hasn't changed just for the 1250 engine. So there will be 1000s of bikes which come under the same type approval. The type approval is just showing the bike models impacted, it doesn't signify they all have the build components that are impacted, which obviously made it onto the production in Oct 19 until Dec 19.

I think this relates to the Pivot Pin recall safety warning circulated in the USA a few months ago, why the delay here I have no idea. Details : https://www.consumeraffairs.com/new...0-r1250gs-and-r1250rt-motorcycles-040620.html. Actually read this a while back so emailed BMW UK direct a few weeks ago about it and was told no recalls that they know about for the 1250, am guessing they were not yet aware though I don't think all bikes affected.

Or, in my case, it could be that I’m a retard and got the years wrong... Doh. Mine was made in Nov ‘18 and registered Mar ‘19 so a year out for the years affected. Idiot.
