When I picked my bike up after its annual service the man told me there's a recall later this month for 'a small electrical job'. He didn't elaborate. Any ideas anyone?

Probably the software update to stop the battery going flat. Only seemed to affect some bikes, never happened to me. It's been posted about before so a search will probably find some more info.

Yes, indeed. I was told that by my service fellas too when I got my bike back from having new front discs fitted. The invoice states: "Battery recall still outstanding but no update disc avail at present". And that's quoted letter by letter. :)
So, as far as I know you can't update the battery with a disc, so I'm presuming that the disc referrs to a new software version on the bike, and that they probably might exchange the battery too (if it's X old or if the bike has drained the battery Y times, etc etc - speculatinos only). But there's defo something coming up.

Yes think my bike mid 04 was "fixed" when it went in after dash warning light came on and killed battery. Something to do with the bikes EWS and a mark I and mark II version. If thats what it is..

I'll update when it goes in later this month. (It's also having the squealy brake mod done). Interestingly I've had no electrical probs so far. (Oh God what have I said - runs away to fondle a large oak dining table.)
:)

I wouldn't worry too much - I've also had no electrical problems from day one. I think it's only a minority of bikes that were affected by the discharge problem (that sounds a bit iffy!)
