BMW issued a recall on the R1200GS model
BMW issued a recall on the R1200GS model On certain motorcycles, transmission oil pressure may be too high, causing the output shaft sealing ring to leak. Oil leakage ahead of the rear tire could render the vehicle unstable. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury....

initially BMW UK denied knowledge of this until I sent them the notice?..

This was pre release and only in Canada - note the date Feb 13!

My LC, among the few first to be shipped to Canada, was not concerned by this recall (VIN not on the list.) So it can't be very widespread.

Did he actually HAVE an oil leak, or was he just advised there was a recall because of a POSSIBLE oil leak? That's two different things.
