.
The Dell Inspiron 6400 (I think that's the right name) is not a patch on the Advent, and it comes with more pre-loaded crap than you can poke a stick at.
The screen isn't as nice either.
As for 'servicing' a laptop I'd love to know what that involves.
If you've got a problem there site members like Tuned and Fanum and good few others who will always help.

sorry not "servicing" but on-site repairs should it go wrong

Dells at home service is excellent

They will send an engineer next day ( and he will turn up ) and you can even specify an approximate time. Try that with British GAs!

Recently spent 2 weeks trying to get a Packard Bell engineer to come out and when he did he brought the wrong parts and then he failed to turn up at all on the next visit.

Its not always about the purchase price and i wouldnt even consider buying a laptop without an extended (3 yrs min ) warranty. You will ALWAYS make a claim for a screen problem or something similar.

Pretty impressive for that money :thumb

Shame about the shared memory onboard Gphx, but it's adequate...and you could use a nice USB sound dongle....You'd certianly have to strip off that crap software but otherwise :thumb

That's AMAZING for £ 540 including delivery! I've just bought 5 laptops for £ 499 and they're only half those specs :(
