People get upset when I recommend Mac but if you want something simple to use, whilst having enough 'grunt' then a Mac laptop is what I'd suggest.

As for the arguments about "They're more expensive", frankly you get what you pay for.

I reckon you should buy a 15" Laptop with 500GB hard drive and 2GB ram as a minimum spec. Plenty of good deals to be had nowadays, shops selling PC's on every high street so shop around and haggle.

Avoid getting sold warranties and antivirus/internet security packages as they are lucrative for the PC sellers and drive the prices way up.
