They are the perfect GSer boot IMHO:
all-day comfy on the bike and walking
Warm in winter
not too warm in summer
100% waterproof
not too heavy and clumpy
not too many buckles
better than Couriers
They tick all the boxes for me![]()
I suspect that the closest it may be possible to get might well be the Aerostich 'COMBAT TOURING BOOTS'
Altbergs and for that matter, the HG Tuareg boots, are all very well IF YOU DON'T GIVE A FLYINGFEKK ABOUT THE PROTECTION YOUR FEET AND ANKLES GET.
Justlike with people asking what the 'perfect alround jacket' is , I'm not sure there is such a thing as a perfect 'All round boot', particularly if you have a list of requirements AND want a degree of safety
Not sure about your first comment; I believe my Tuaregs give more than adequate protection to my toes, heel, ankle and shin. Totally agree your second comment though; perfection, like beauty, is (mostly) in the eye of the beholder. Each to his/her own!
. dont think a pair of road boots would have been much good in that situation. still dont think dms are that good on a bike though
whehey a pair of infinitys on their way for £170 inc p&p from 2wheelers international![]()
... between 'touring' and full on MX boots are the Dianese Virunga, I've had a pair for two years and they are a very comfy compromise. Don't be put off by the coloured panels as they do come in several 'quieter' shades![]()
