Bottle of Jameson's at £15.45 will outperform the lot of em![]()

That'll be what I'm drinking at the moment.Bottle of Jameson's
There is someone the I know that has done me a huge favour recently and as a small token of my appreciation I want to get him a decent bottle of whisky. Unfortunately I don't know much about whisky as I normally drink whiskeyso I thought this would be the best place to ask, assuming youse can ignore the jagermeister for long enough to concentrate.
So, if you had £100-£150 to get a half decent bottle what would you get?

As I'm no expert I went to a place that had some samples to try, and I settled for a 20 yr old BenRiach, a Speyside distillery. I didn't realise how lovely proper single malts were! Smooth, rich, full of flavour, not a hint of harshness. This could get very expensive for me on a personal level...What did you eventually opt for?
