I've got a new neighbour. A sound guy and he's into bikes, always a good thing.

His old man has got a Ducati 250 single that he wants re-commissioning. It's allegedly all there (I've yet to see it) but will want an engine overhaul and possible rewire (convert to 12v).

Can anybody recommend a specialist in these bikes or even somebody who know their way around Ducati singles please, preferably in the E Mids - ta.

Just seen this.............................

There are a couple of Ducati Singles specialists near me.

Baines Racing on the Silverstone circuit and someone called Andy in Eastcote (a mile or two north of Towcester on the A5).

Try googling them, and if I can find contact details later (just on my way out) I'll post details.

Cheers,
Keith.

Doncaster motorcyles are pretty good with duccati
not a specialist but they run old ones themselves !

I've got the Clymer manual from my old 250 owning days in the mid 70's, if he wants to give it a go himself. It's not that difficult. From memory, setting the preload on the main bearings and shimming the bevel drive to the cam are the main issues....:nenau

Ahhh memories come flooding in, my brother had one of these with an open baffle, when he was away at farming college I used to borrow this beauty, 6volt crappist electrics. The times we had together. Beautiful :cool
