Hi All,

Just tried fitting the new Cardo Scala G9 to the other halfs helmet (Shoeie XR1000) but she struggled to get it past her ears with the speakers in place.

I'm looking at an Arai Tour X4 myself, which has the ability to put the speakers inside the cheek pads I understand - but can you recommend something for the other half.

Not really keen on spending that sort of money for what will be a lot less use (the XR1000 is nearly 5 years old but looks like it's never been used), can you suggest something which leaves enough room for the speakers of a Scala G9?

She will of course try some helmets, but if you guys can make some suggestions it would be useful.

Thanks.

It's a personal thing. I made a hash of fitting an autocom system to my Shoei some years ago. I have fitted a Sena SMH5 to my new Neotec, it was easy and looks great, although I've lost the foam thing of the mic boom.

I wouldn't even try on my Arai RX7GP but then again I don't wont to hear from anyone else when I'm on the K1300.

IMO get the fit right first, worry about comma second.

I couldn't agree with you more...

I was just hoping for some suggestions around Helmets which had been designed with an intercom in mind :)

I have an XR1000 myself and apart from a slight push on the left hear (possibly because of where the base is mounted) it works fine for me in my helmet. She had trouble getting it on/off however with the intercom fitted.

If she has a Shoei shaped head then try the newer XR1100 - I've just bought one and there are recesses in the padding for speakers.

I tried many different makes of helmet and it seems, to me, if you have a Shoei shaped head then you won't find a Shark, HJC, AGV or Nitro to fit.

What about a shoei Qwest. Light weight, good quality, under £300 and made to have comms fitted. My wife has one an loves it.

Cheers

Don't Shark do a helmet with Comms already fitted? Some kind of Bluetooth connection. And Shark helmets aren't daft money.

Thanks Guys. She has already spotted the shoei qwest.

Taking her shopping on Saturday.
