Recommend an Employment Lawyer

I know a really good outfit but they are Bristol based (location isnt really a problem given phones and email nowadays). They've helped me out on two occasions in the past and although not cheap they did successfully resolve the problem for me.

Check your household insurance,quite often there is legal stuff attached which includes employment disputes,my insurer used a firm in Bristol too very good.

Well, every business likes to come out with advertising and marketing rubbish from time to time...

In the real world, employees are there to do a job. The business is there to make money for the owners (with the exception of a few smaller firms where the owner may have different priorities).

Trade unions represent employees. If employees are the business, would that not mean the unions are representing the business? I can see that working well... I've worked for unions in the past and they are about the worst employers there are!

old flame of mine is director of a UK sub of a US company - she has 30 years HR experience.

Its quite interesting but she says they dont give a flying fcuk about our employment laws.

They sack or lay off staff at will - all she can do is try and persuade them not to.

this is probably not your situation but worth thinking about.

My sister in law also works for unite.

there is nothing pisses her off more than some cnut ringing up who is not a member and demanding help - or joining the day they need it.

I am pretty anti union but still pay on the off channce they may be able to help
 
Thanks to those of you that have wished me well over the weeks.
I haven't needed to use a lawyer yet (wanted some names just in case) but have an assesment in 6 months time so you never know!
