I am picking up an 1100gs at the weekend and wondered if any of you local guys could recommend a good place for future repairs/servicing. I actually live 10miles NW of Cambridge.

I had a feeling there would not be anyone very close to me. Cambridge itself is not very well served for bikers apart from Wheelfit who I find very pleasant to deal with. I won`t mention the place down Histon Road.
I am taking my Trident for an MOT at Paul Nobbs Motorcycles in Sutton tomorrow lunchtime. I will sound him out about working on my forthcoming `tractor`. I hope he will work on it as he is a great guy. Looks like there are quite a few members from this area which is good to see.

... and is he going to do it? Any good?

Surely you don't mean Haywards, they always seam like a good bunch of fellow, always a welcome n cuppa tea, good advice, and don't mind if you have a wonder into work shops etc?

Haywards is on Huntingdon Road, not Histon Road.

May I suggest, as I have to previous similar enquiries, Rick Holmes, in Milton, just opposite Tescos.
Excellent mechanic, and knows and likes the 1200's, and serviced my old airhead RS, and also my recently sold 1150 GSA. He has MOT facility, Dyno, and full diagnostics for most bikes.
There is a little industrial estate - NOT the one that leads to the Country Park, ( only about 15 units), with Morleys at the top ( resprays and powder coating etc,), and Rick is at the bottom on the left.
Mention my name please !!!
Workshop No is; 01223 420203.

You need Steve Scriminger in Sleaford - the UKs expert on BMW engines - and a nice fella

I know the industrial estate as I used to live on The Rowans years ago. Thanks for that. I will pop in when I am passing.

Selwyn motorcycles in Balsham.
Used to be top man at Andy Lee's when they were Beemer.
Great engineer, to call him a mechanic would do him a great disservice.
