Recommendations for boots please

Another vote for Daytonas here.

Got some Roadstar GTX, totally waterproof, very warm, and very comfy.

I've got some Alpinestars for the "other" bike - Again waterproof and comfy, but not the best when I crashed in them - so I've just bought a pair of Daytona Evo Race Boots to replace them.

Daytona's here too

Roadstar GTX, warm, dry, very comfy.

Also had a pair of Sidi Couriers, briefly, not as comfy but definitely chunky and robust.

Alpine Star MotoX boots for hooning around the hills

Also the new BMW clothing brochure has a pair of very serious looking off road boots.

Sidi Discoverys

Would recommend the Discoverys any day 'o the week...Good boot but, not cheap...

very serious looking off road boots...

A friend of mine bought the Hein Gericke GoreTex off-road boots
last week; they look very serious!
And the price, 199 Euro, seems quite good too!

I use green wellies (unbranded) most of the year. Extras include steel toe caps. I find they keep my feet warm and dry.
I am looking for a colour match with my Blue GS.

Daytona's

Tried jst about every make over the years and if you want the best touring boots available get daytonas.

Go for the goretex ones - completely waterproof and still not overheated in summer.

The best thing is you can walk comfortably in them - If you are touring for a couple of weeks or so this is an important consideration.

Cheers

BOOTS

Altberg without any doubt are the best. Don't waste your money on anything else.

BOOTS

HI GUYS,
JUST GOT MY 9 MONTH OLD DAYTONA TRAVEL GTX'S BACK FROM A WARRANTY CLAIM (ONE LEAKED) TURNAROUND WAS 2 1/2 WEEKS AND THEY'VE COME BACK LOOKING LIKE NEW (NEW SOLES ETC.) BUT ALSO WITH A LITTLE TAG ATTACHED WHICH I THOUGHT MIGHT BE INTERESTING TO TRANSLATE (IF SOMEONE CAN - 'COS I CAN'T!!) IT READS
"REKLAMATION TRAVEL GTX 50 UNDICHTAN BEIDEN STIEFEL (SEHR EILIG!)"
CAN ANYONE HELP?
SHERPA;)

CLAIM TRAVEL GTX 50 UNDICHTAN BOTH BOOT (VERY HURRIEDLY!)

is the literal translation - not sure about "undichtan" presume it means sole or something similar.

undichtan means they were leaking!

About time to say thanks again...

After all of the feeback and some searching around, the thinking stands at:

Myself - Altberg Hogg All weather Microlite

Son - Sidi Couriers (XR250 poser to be!!)

At present I have a pair of Aplinstars. Never leaked and good on the bike but impossible to walk in comfortably.

Hein Gericke TRG are very comfortable and good value for a Gortex boot. Also have very good adjustment.

Cheers,

Andy

A lot of talk about 'Daytonas ' on this thread. It's got me interested.

1. who makes them?
2. where can I see/get a pair?

Thanks, Martin.

ps. tried on the Hein Gericke ones (above) great for winter but a bit much for summer wear.
