I wont be renewing my bmw warranty this time, can anyone recommend a company that includes European breakdown cover

I just use carole Nash insurance, Eu breakdown cover included :)

I used to but their price was too high so I bought insurance from Devitt & Euro breakdown cover from https://www.startrescue.co.uk/

If you use Quidco or Topcashback then you can get a discount. Very good price for cover, good reviews and a nice phone app that uses the satnav function on your phone to call for help. I can't review the actual breakdown insurance as I have yet to call for help. Which? recommend them.

I'm with Smart Insurance. They also use an app when you breakdown. Hit the button and they see where you are and ring you.
It says 'ere.
Again, haven't had the need to use it yet.

Search ADAC on here.

A while back I followed a thread asking same as you are and ended up going with ADAC, Germany's version of the AA.

If you break down in the UK they send the AA who is their partner provider. The level of cover is equivalent to the top AA package, but at about 100 Euro.

The thing that swung it for me was that ADAC has the world's largest fleet of air ambulances and as a member you have the peace of mind knowing they are there in the event of a serious accident or illness.

Cover is for the member in or on any vehicle anywhere in Europe. Never had to use it, but as stated, I'm told they send the AA out over here.

I use Carole Nash and when it was needed the breakdown service was great. Costs-wise I think it competes well with a cheaper insurance policy and separate breakdown cover.

just tried a quote with devitt out of intrest as my insurance exp on 26th ,only 20 quid cheaper than carole nash and that was covering only one bike ,the gs , with no breakdown cover !! , ( i've got 2 bikes on carole nash currently ) i think they just pluck figures out of thin air sometimes ;) Be wiser wanted double what most of the others quoted !!! must be struggling to pay the bsb riders wages :)

I had RAC recovery and the one and only time I needed them, I was told there was a 3 hour wait. "We are experiencing an abnormally high number of calls" It was 30 degrees C, me and my other half were dressed in black leathers with a dead R69. I had to get a mate to come out and help. Needless to say I didn't renew my membership.

I have AA breakdown cover that covers multiple vehicles: bike and car, including relay. It doesn't include EU cover but I normally just take out a single trip policy with AA, which is discounted as a member, and is usually pretty cheap but very comprehensive. I've used them in the past to truck a bike back from the Netherlands without any problems. Not sure I would trust the breakdown offered by an insurance company, without reading the small print, as most only cover you to the nearest garage/mechanic and not recover you back home without extra cost. They give it away these days because it's got no real value, this sort of basic cover can be had for about £30 and it's so cheap because they know they can upsell you in an emergency.

yes you're right about the small print on some add on breakdown cover ,bennetts add on cover would only take you UP TO 20 miles to a nearby garage !!! carole nash however seems pretty good ,home start , onward travel or return home + hotel stay or hire car :thumb2

I have UK and European breakdown with Nationwide including travel insurance for about £10 per month but keep £2k in the account on which I get about £4 interest so breakdown and travel for about £ 6 per month . Dont think you can beat that and I know it works because I had to use it once. Also Nationwide account is about the cheapest option for foriegn use.

Look up Start rescue.
There is an app which pin points your location and they are very competitive.
I have bike and car covered with them for about £80 including European cover and recovery, home start etc etc. :rob

I also haven't had the chance to use them yet so......... but I know people who have and swear by them!

Follow up to my previous comments I had to call breakdown tonight when the throttle cable broke on my old classic BSA . Took about an hour to attend put on the Lorry and take me and the bike home. Didn't think I would need it so soon after making my previous recommendation

Been with ADAC for a few years now, only rung once, for a bike breakdown in UK, AA turned up.

Used Vehicle Rescue Direct, used them a few times on trips to Europe and I can honestly say they were faultless even after a major crash when one of our riders totalled his bike, they even paid for all of our hotel rooms that night.

AA joint membership for wife & I. With having a few vehicles it's just not worth getting the cover with the insurance. Used them a few times with no issues. Service either good or excellent. Last time was a puncture on the bike. Conveniently next to a cafe at lunchtime. AA guy was there before we'd finished lunch. :)

Used my 'StartRescue' recovery on Friday with a major rear puncture - excellent service all round so a thumbs up for them from me
:thumb2

I used call assist which i believe start rescue use whilst in France. The call center were great, the village idiot who dropped my bike whilst loading it not so... Followed by an hour in the passenger seat correcting his stearing whilst he pissed about with 3 phones... I was on tranquilizers for weeks after
