Don't overlook the Dunlop TR91 which many say is the GS version of their Roadsmart tyre. Has come top in most reviews for the last two years only recently being pipped by the Tourance Next as it had worse tyre wear. Anakee 3 criticised for its road noise. Have been running the TR91 on my GS for 5000 miles now, minimum wear all weathers and very, very good.
There's an interesting report in this week's MCN, Richard Newland has an LC on long term test.
He reckons the Nexts to be the best road option, the Contis are a bit compromised and interestingly the Anakees whilst having good levels of grip, have too steep a side wall profile which leaves upwards of an inch untouched on the rear tyre.
This is exactly my experience, I'm almost to the edge of the front and the rear has about 20mm untouched. Now that shouldn't bother me too much but I'm concerned about the grip levels on the (as yet untouched) very edge of the rear tyre.
Also worth pointing out that every other version of the Tourance is dual compound whilst the LC version is single. Apparently Metzeler are homolagating a dual version for our bike, but ass to when that gets released is anyone's guess.
Cant understand the comment about the shape of the 3. I am over to the edge and not a fast rider by a long way.,but that is with the size for previous model not the WC. Perhaps the new size is different.

Me too. Both not reaching the edge of the rear and not 100% confident with them when right over. Really looking forward to seeing some purely road orientated tyres coming out.
Changed the REAR tyre NEXTs at 11500 KMS. front still ok and waiting for PILOT 3's to become available. NEXT's squared off at 6000kms.I have the Tourance Next on mine, and will be moving to the Anakee3 when I change them next month.

Why would Michelin build the excellent PR3 (had it on my RT and it IS an excellent tyre) in the WC wheel size, since it is strictly a road tyre? Would it actually sell? Are there other motorcyles out there with the same size wheels?
