From next Monday bikes will be allowed in the majority of Red Route bus lanes in the Capital. Read it in the Metro this morning so must be true :rob

Nope, just the ones that we were allowed into before.

The whole thing, which started when Boris arrived in mayoral splendour having ousted the socialist cnut from NW London, was a trial. It had been due to end earlier but was then extended. Despite fears of carnage, no undue rise in the death toll has occurred.... So the temporary order has now been made permanent.

Think you'll find that most red route bus lanes were excluded from the trial. I've actually received a ticket for using one not understanding that. The trial was for non- red route bus lanes only.

I think you'll find that you simply went in a red lane bus route that was not de-restricted ;) as lots and lots of red routes were de-restricted. :beerjug:

A classic example is the Holloway Road where the west to east run is a red route, but fully usable by motorcycles throughout the trial. But the east to west run (also a red route) is only usable in part and is still to be restricted. Go in it and get caught, one fine heading your way. The PDF maps and other attachments tell the full story.

most useful link. Thank You. :thumb2

Og

(exits to print out the report, roll it up and beat the Irish R.S.A. over the nose with it.) :D

Just keep an eye on the signs
I drive a london cab and there are still some bus lanes that are for buses only and I am sure that will not include bikes keep em peeled :thumb

Wrong. Routes run by TFL are usable, and even some council run lanes (kingston upon thames are safe).

But simple enough to check the sign before each bus lane just to be sure because it can be confusing. :D
There's a very conveniant and usable bus lane in battersea but whenever i use it most bikes stay out of it for some reason !.

And now the cnut is sticking his oar into Kent business, and wants to build a bloody airport where i live on the Grain Peninsula.
If he gets his way my village will soon we under twenty feet of concrete.

Stick to fcucking up London Boris:eh
