Red triangle/brake failure/dodgy speedo...

Quick question re the above. I searched the forums and got a few pointers, but I also get a misfire during acceleration when the speedo starts to go haywire. Is this just the ECU going into 'limp' mode or am I looking at another problem?

On switching off and back on, the problem goes away and hasn't returned for 20 miles. 06 GSA with 36k.

Re your comment, my 1200GSA has just suffered the same in France. It was the rear differential that was shot, including the brake sensor and speedo drive. £1100 to repair. Chasing BMW as a warranty issue, as this is a very expensive chain replacement timing wise. Still have misfire and probably not directly linked.
