Redline, Loughborough

I've nearly always done all my own servicing of cars, vans and bikes inc the first 500 mile and had warranty work done. If I messed it up I know the warranty wouldn't cover it but if they refused genuine warranty work I would tell them I would never buy a car bike van from that manufacturer again and for them to make a commercial choice.

In this instance, you're in a stronger position because you have your bike booked in, dealer has closed with no notice and you need the service done before you go away. I'm assuming it's not a valve check and only needs oil and filter + checkover? I'd have it done quicker than riding to the dealer.

Use the correct grade of oil and a genuine KTM filter, take pictures if it is a valve check and keep the receipts.

You'll be fine and it's quite satisfying knowing you've done it.
I have come to the conclusion that this is the way forward

As far as I can see for the warranty to remain valid it has to be serviced in accordance with KTM schedule using KTM genuine parts by a competent person ( I.E not me :D )
So it snow and in the future going to be cared for by the extremely good lads at Doncaster Motorcycles ( blatant plug https://www.doncastermotorcycles.co.uk/ )
Neil and Kev are both very diligent and extremely competent

The question now is can Neil or Kev do it in time for your jaunt to Spain? The suspense is killing me.......

it was booked in with them for new tyres pre trip and with a bit of leverage with Neil ( no point telling anyone the details of said leverage) it will be fully serviced the same day
On my part all I have to do is get it there at 0700 as Neil often will open early to accommodate me

Not sure the Warranty will be worth much as KTM are probably about to go bust, I expect it wil be broken up, the name will remain and maybe many of the current models (espcially not made in Austria) will continue on in some form, but I am guessing nobody will want to honour the warranty of existing bikes....

...I wonder if KTM are even paying dealers for warranty work they are currently doing? Only upside is I expect most dealers owe KTM some money for bikes so can offest it.

The amount of dealers closing so fast has been shocking, you would think as some have gone the others would get a bit of a reprive and larger market share, increased margins, but think it is a buyers market right now, and with a looming recession the futures not so bright.

Now you mention it I happen to know someone with a 890 who submitted a warranty claim for warped discs ( warped after 1500 miles) 6 months ago and they still have not heard anything back from KTM

I suspect that you are correct
