I've just removed my Desierto 3 screen and want to refit my OE screen on my GSA12.

But I can't get the bloody thing on.

Can someone take a close up pic of the ratchet mechanism with the adjuster knobs ?

Does the protruding part face up or down in gap between the notches ?

Is there a knack/order to aid refitting ?

Ta muchly.

Dont forget the ratchet parts on the screen are left and right - it will not got together the wrong way round. I think they are marked with 'L' or 'R'.

As a note I fit the screen (GS/GSA) with part 7 so its the other way up (swap L & R - parts 5 & 7). This allows you have the screen set sitting straighter up, but it won't adjust as low.

Options... options...

Thanks guys.

Brilliant.

Will have another go tomorrow after some kip !!!

Job done.

It's easy when you realise that they are marked L & R and only fit that way.

Thanks guys

Confused the hell out of me when I tried fitting an aftermarket screen too :blast

What's going on then? are you getting rid of the GSA? How much will the Deserto screen be going up for :green gri

Yup,

trading GSA in next month, all bits sold including Desierto screen.

infact it costs £1 less than the RC8 and makes about 25 more bhp.

Similar colour but the price includes ESA,Traction Control,ABS,Quickshifter,Heated Grips etc etc.

Has it got 'proper' indicators too :D

Andres

Look,normal indicators :

This thread is getting silly - back to the the original question please ---------------
I'm interested 'cos just got a GSA and feel that I'd like the screen more vertical, but it came on what is maximum, and I thought that it would go higher if those "pips" were not there.
I'm sure my GS wasn't like that.
So!!!!!
Can the screen go higher if the spacers are turned round?
Or does it cause a problem with turbulence - The GSA screen is bigger than the GS - is that the reason? Too much wind?
